he was named after his father but everyone calls him jj.
born 2258, jj grew up in the cold environment of vault 101. he hung out with amata more than anyone given the close quarters.
since 14 (2272), he resented his father. he knew he was keeping secrets and his father left jj to be raised by officer gomez and his family.
after leaving the vault at 19 to find his dad he ends up in megaton where he stays for a medium length of time helping out in the clinic and doing runs for moriarty or getting drunk with gob.
after the death of his father he gets a signal from amata asking for his help, returning to the vault he finds it split into two sections. once he gets the overseer to step down and amata steps up she tells him to leave, and when he does butch hugs him, something hes never done.
he later finds butch in the muddy rudder, after sharing a drink they agree to team up to form the badassest gang in the wastes.
once they have won what they were fighting for, butch and jj permanently move to megaton.

he was born 2272 in vault 101 to herman and pepper gonzalez, he has an older brother named freddie.
when jj left the vault jonathan was only 5 and is 6 by the time jj come back.
when hes 15 (2287) he leaves the vault and ends up in boston. he ends up joining the railroad and after the institute is destroyed he helps struggling synths, giving them new identities and homes.
